Has anyone else ever noticed teflon coated hooks never feel as sharp as uncoated hooks?I always take the coating of the point and they feel so much sharper.
Best hooks for staying sharp that I've used are the Atomic range.I've never used anything like them before, the abuse they can take over harsh ground and still remain sharp is untrue.Although not sticky sharp out of the packet they're not far off. What is noticeable when I sharpen them when...
Have never found critical sharpness essential for barbel as it is for carp.If the point turns over it gets replaced. As for hook files the black handled Jag file reigns supreme for me.
I think you have to accept that there is never going to be an angling show on TV that is going to be quite to the palette of the angling enthusiast. What I think it did do was show a good face of angling to a non fishing audience.Angling is not exactly the top of the bill when it comes to TV...

More just for hookbaits.A cage feeder construction would be perfect if it came in say a 10mm diameter.
Never knowingly suffered with this problem but only use the "method" in coloured water,so have no visual evidence.I would imagine rolling meat has more of a visual aspect to it and in a do or die situation anything will be initially picked up in the flow. Can't remember where I read or heard...
Cheers guys, the reason it must be a cage is so that there is still some paste left on the inside after the crays have had a go.Hair rollers might be worth a shout though.Did also think about small springs, anyone tried this?any good suppliers out there?
Brian,I found braided hooklinks cut...
