I've had that where the handle wants to lift in the air Paul, because the net frame is too high off of the water, usually i'm able to adjust the height by staking the bank stick lower into the side of the bank, which often needs me to be laying on the ground to get my hands to the net and fish...

Never tried one, but looking at them like Mark i can't see how they could be better than a large landing net with a long drop, just my opinion.

The curve shank in 10, and the Para-Point in 8, both seem excellent, can't really make up my mind which one to settle with but it will be one or the other, i think i might try the curve shank in 8, just to see what they're like, but the 10's seemed very good.... bet you never thought you'd hear...

I've used them Graham, had the 8 Barbel from the Thames this season on them, no probs at all seem to give a first class hook hold, whilst not being difficult to remove with your fingers, you can't ask more from a hook really ! I think i'll settle with those :)

I use these Maver T115's i have 3, had them for must be getting on for 20 years ! I think back then they cost me £9.00 each, i've seen them on ebay for £27.99, ... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173464555979 But shop around on ebay again for 17.49 ...

People just not taking in the severity of this heat, together with not knowing or possibly caring about proper recovery, swim choice etc it's bound to happen, this stretch is no stranger to fish deaths, it attracts anglers with not much experience in Barbel fishing, and some without the savvy to...

You don't have to fish with red pointy thing mate, i'd go for a change of species as has been said, it did me the world of good Barbel aren't the be all and end all !

It's the mindset of the new age 'Carp fisher' .... i wont say Angler ! They feel like they're not fishing properly without the full kit ..... 'looking the part', They're copying the 'names' they see in the mags, and online, who .... at least the old ones would be laughing their socks off at...

Stabila are best, Stanley Fat Max a close second, of course if it's not too bright you could use a Laser in that case my choice would be DeWalt :cool:
