    Angling camaraderie

Unbelievable. If that had happened to me I’d have laughed at the guy. That is seriously tight.

    quatford river severn

Definitely Knowle Sands cardiac hill, it was a bugger when I was in my 20s, never mind now.

13ft Normark Avenger Float Rod (original)

It’s the original Avenger that one Terry (already have one). Thanks for enquiring though. Nick

    Dunham bridge Trent question.

Some pegs have slab platforms from what I remember. Fairly typical tidal stretch really. The club which runs it never reply to emails and seem to be fully subscribed every year. Used to be my favourite tidal stretch before it became popular.

13ft Normark Avenger Float Rod (original)

I wouldn’t say the Avenger is a barbel trotting rod, it has reserves of power for sure that will cope with barbel, but it’s probably more suited for chub. I use mine for general trotting and a Daiwa 15ft river float rod for barbel trotting.

    Harrison Chimera No1?

Yeah the chimera 1 will bend right the way to the corks with a good barbel on, so does my chimera 2 and torrix, but it’s how it bends that defines the action. I usually identify through actioned rods by giving them a waggle. If you get a snaking Action all the way through, it’s a through action...

13ft Normark Avenger Float Rod (original)

If your mate has an avenger m2 ( green trim on whippings) in good condition Terry, I’d be interested. Would like to have a reserve.

    Harrison Chimera No1?

Plenty of reserve power when needed but not what I would call a through actioned rod, more a progressive one. I personally don’t like through action rods as they feel sloppy in the hand to me.

13ft Normark Avenger Float Rod (original)

I have 2 avengers, original and Mark 2 ( green trim on whippings) and use them as all round float rods. Fantastic rods ( do prefer my mark 2 though, bit lighter and more responsive). I also had a titan but sold it because I just never used it.

    Angling Trust

For some reason the AT seems to catch a lot of flack on here, with many saying they were members of the Angling Conservation Association, but cancelled their membership once it became the AT. Well for those who only want to support fish legal, you can now make a donation on the AT website and...

    I need a quality Umbrella

Korum now do a brolly with steel ribs which I’m thinking of getting. Anybody here got one ? I have two of their fibre ribbed brollies and they are absolute rubbish, as Brian said earlier, they fold up like a tulip in the wind. Last time out in high winds my mate laughed his bollix off because he...

    Catch Cult 16-17-18

Subscribed. IMHO, essential reading in these tedious times.

    DNA Secret 7 Boilies

Agree Ash, Atlantic heat is a quality bait.

    Baiting poles

The old lead weighted canister floated down into position and then sunk works a treat and is a lot less faff.

    National team funding

I agree that there are probably more pressing matters which require additional funding but would be happy to have the option of contributing when renewing online. I’m not a match angler and do have some reservations about match fishing, but I’m not anti it. Surely successful national fishing...

    Feeling the strain....Barrows

A barrow is the way to go Graham, very easy to push over most terrains and light. I have a one wheel version which is removable and then folds flat. Trolleys are a bit of a struggle over fields.

    Spopper wanted

Nice one Jon, that’s a much more professional job than the one I bought off eBay. If I lose mine I know who to come to.

    Shimano Stradic ci4 4000

Yes Chris I’m referring to the ci4 2500fd reel, but the fact still remains the key advantage of the ci4 range is the lightness to strength ratio. Tbh I don’t get what the difference is between a lure fishing reel and a float fishing reel - I use the fast retrieve Legalis LT version for my float...
