I have a Stradic 3000 for waggler fishing for barbel and it is the best reel I have. Has carbon drag washers, is super smooth and light. I also have a Daiwa Fuego and imo the Stradic is far superior.
I’ve managed to loosen the screw out of the centre drag knob but it doesn’t seem to make any difference to how the reel spins whether I have both screwed up tight or any other configuration. I’m not really sure how the mechanism works tbh. Do those of you who have the same reel (no ratchet) use...
I’ve just bought a 5 inch Stanton for trotting which doesn’t have a ratchet but does have a drag knob on the front (or at least I assume that’s what it is). Problem is tightening the drag knob has no effect on the free running of the spool. Is there an easy fix to this or am I going to have to...
It doesn’t even make my top 1000 things wrong in angling today and yet some people would be quite happy for him to lose his livelihood over it. Decisions are much easier to make when you don’t have budgets to justify and bosses to please.
Crickets not cricket anymore either and probably never was 😁. If you watch angling content, which I do, then I’m afraid you have to accept some strokes are pulled occasionally. People can extrapolate that out to it being standard practice based on one clip if they want, but I don’t know enough...
If the footage is genuine, is it really that shocking ? If you have paid a cameraman to do a feature, the fishing is hard and you muck up the action shot, what is likely to happen ? Rest the fish, rehook it and take two. Granted it’s not ideal, but also it’s not like it’s a regular occurrence...
I recently acquired a pair of Daiwa GS BR 5000’s to put on my torrix 1.75’s and absolutely love them. Super smooth, great line lay, fantastic front drag and foldable handles. Good lookers too imo.
Just out of interest, how long should a brand new pin spin for ? I bought a pin from Garry Mills which only spins for 7 seconds which given how I retrieve, makes it a pain to use. I had to wait 2 years for it as well.
I always have some kind of spicy milk on one rod - Garam masala and nutmeg essential oil atm, no artificial flavour. Some days it outfishes my fishmeal rod, others it doesn’t.
