If it is an original grey rod with black whippings in good condition the id say you saved yourself about £60 or £70 quid
Absolutely cracking rods, superseded by the very similar Duo twin top rods
I have a nice selection, some from Ivan Marks in differing lengths (to combat the pull of water)
I also have some moulded rubbers formed at an angle for use on slow flowing water or on big lakes with subsurface big tows.
I also have a couple of spring tips, whose advantage over the quiver tip is...
I might be thinning out my collection, so will have an almost as new super specialist duo up for sale soon, it is in a Series7 rod bag tho but otherwise it’s perfect
No mate, I’ve personally not seen a green insight blank, but I do have a non-Harrison burgundy one, though you do need a good eye to spot the difference in the weave ( also had it confirmed by Harrison’s))
It’s still a very nice rod though …they do say ignorance is bliss😂
They also did a 12’ 1.25lb version and a quite rare 11’ version of both would have been available in the late 1980’s as I remember seeing them in my local tackle shop at the time
These rods were the precursor to the “Duo” and were produced by a different manufacturer than the “Duo” twin top rods, and although the rods appear to be made on the same mandrel Drennan assured me they they were not
Currently I think I have 1x 1:25 super specialist, a pair of 1.25 Duos, 1x 1.5...
I did ask that very question of the very helpful Dr Harrison, the insight rods were based on the chimera blank, the 12’ RB had a 1.5 lb tc quiver top, and a 1.75 & 2.0 lb hollow top.
The 1.75 & 2.0 tops were also available as stand alone rods
There was also a SU version which was 2.25lb which...
Daiwa 11/13 come in 3 levels, Stillwater, standard, & stepped up either of the second to will do a fine job , had my oldest whisker Kevlar since the mid to late 80’s superb rods
