    Drennan super specialist

If it is an original grey rod with black whippings in good condition the id say you saved yourself about £60 or £70 quid Absolutely cracking rods, superseded by the very similar Duo twin top rods

    Swingtips

I have a nice selection, some from Ivan Marks in differing lengths (to combat the pull of water) I also have some moulded rubbers formed at an angle for use on slow flowing water or on big lakes with subsurface big tows. I also have a couple of spring tips, whose advantage over the quiver tip is...

History of the older Drennan Avon rods

You probably did, as the new versions were out by then, a tackle dealers were allowed to discount them as out of date stock

    Leslie's of Luton insight blanks

No mate, I’ve personally not seen a green insight blank, but I do have a non-Harrison burgundy one, though you do need a good eye to spot the difference in the weave ( also had it confirmed by Harrison’s)) It’s still a very nice rod though …they do say ignorance is bliss😂

History of the older Drennan Avon rods

They also did a 12’ 1.25lb version and a quite rare 11’ version of both would have been available in the late 1980’s as I remember seeing them in my local tackle shop at the time

History of the older Drennan Avon rods

These rods were the precursor to the “Duo” and were produced by a different manufacturer than the “Duo” twin top rods, and although the rods appear to be made on the same mandrel Drennan assured me they they were not Currently I think I have 1x 1:25 super specialist, a pair of 1.25 Duos, 1x 1.5...

    Leslie's of Luton insight blanks

I did ask that very question of the very helpful Dr Harrison, the insight rods were based on the chimera blank, the 12’ RB had a 1.5 lb tc quiver top, and a 1.75 & 2.0 lb hollow top. The 1.75 & 2.0 tops were also available as stand alone rods There was also a SU version which was 2.25lb which...
