I have for sale an old Shimano Nexave 14ft extra heavy feeder rod complete with all tips, its very capable, not mint but no bent rings and works perfectly well. Yours for £40. I just don't use it.
First fish I had last year was a 12:10 on a river tamer 1.5 test curve rod. On the Trent 14’ of water under my feet, it took an age to get the fish off the bottom but from then on dealt very well. Unfortunately the barbel chose to hit that rod rather than the one I expected which was 2lb test...
An interesting programme and I don't for a second doubt his experiences. Trouble is there are other videos out there that show barbel spooked by flourocarbon yet happily feeding with coated braid in the swim. I guess that they're wild animals and as such their behaviour will vary day to day and...
I am a club bailiff and believe me it’s a frustration. I have to say that most though not all are willing to listen and most will return fish if pressured to do so. Contrary to popular belief not all offenders are Eastern European, neither are they the most difficult to deal with, that award...
Hi Andy, unfortunately unless precluded by local bylaws he is allowed to remove a number of fish daily, this includes silver fish and barbel. It’s against everything that most British anglers would understand as we fish mainly for sport, however I have seen English anglers doing exactly the same...
Hi Nic.
You’re welcome and it was nice to meet up again. I’m pleased you like the reels, they’re incredibly powerful and I suspect will be ideal for catfish. I’m looking forward to seeing you advertising the 13’ 2.75’s??
Unfortunately "reasonable" is a subjective view and to most of us that would include a degree of common sense and courtesy to fellow anglers. To some, and fortunately they seem to be a minority the attitude is "I have a right to do what I want and to hell with what anyone else thinks!" On one of...
I’m offering for sale this pair of rods. They are full cork, isotopes in reel seats and in very good condition with original bags. These rods have a very through playing action and have coped admirably with barbel of 14lb plus.
I looked at the chimera’s and the freespirits but bought a pair of Torrix 2.25. I felt that they had a more active tip than the chimera’s but once loaded bent right into the butt in the same way. Probably not as good for fishing tight to snags but overall a rod I’m likely to get more use from. I...
