That's exactly what it is Neil. To the Tories, the only thing that matters is money, which is why our rivers are in this mess - all started by privatisation, which they started. Paying shareholders dividends is the only priority now to these water companies.
Not really sure to be honest Graham, it seems to be pretty steady. In the last seven years on the Lower, I've only had two 14's and four 13's. I have had lots of 12's though, and countless 10's and 11's. It seems that the odd fish here and there will make it through to 15 and sometimes 16, with...
THere are half a dozen pegs in the first field below the car park, and maybe five in the second field. There's two swims where it's possible to fish with river running at nearly 6m on the Kempsey gauge. I've never fished the 'Ham' pegs further down, mostly overgrown i think.
I've hardly fished...
Jim - another question; when you say you feather the back lead down once your rig is in the water, how far from your lead does your back lead usually end up? I mean, can you cast mid river and have your backlead just a couple of rods out, or under your rod tip?
I usually always fish upstream if i can on one rod, and it seems to have increased my catch rate on the upstream rod since i started doing it.
Back-leading is something I've never done though, but it's something I've thought about, seems a bit of a dark art to me though.
I'd say probably not....and I have the D's. I read somewhere that the C's have a stronger bail arm, but I don't get involved in all the mechanics of reels.
Mr Isaac's will know though!!
I watched the BBC report this morning, foxes getting it too. The video showed a fox, then when they mentioned otters, they switched to a video of a beaver. Obviously not experts on wildlife down at BBC HQ.
I'm in the same club, and it's a jump yes, but I'll pay anyway. To be honest £100 is a drop in the ocean compared to what i spend on fishing in a year. I have commented on the BAA site a few times that I'd pay £100 for that if they got rid of this silly 'hour after sunset' rule, at £40, that...
Agreed, three blanks is a regular thing for me to be honest. My Lower Severn record is 13, from a few seasons back.
Blanks are 'character building' though, apparently.
A total lack of etiquette. I've seen it displayed before on the Lower Severn, anglers chasing a big fish drop in yards below an angler who is already fishing. It's very annoying. I can't say I'm the least bit surprised by this example.
Similarly Graham, Lower Severn with a very high bank/cliff behind me, clay pigeon shoot going on up there, I spent most of the session facing away from the river to dodge falling clays.
It's been an issue for a while it seems. A few years ago, the NT said they lock their car park 'at sunset', which all well and good until it became apparent that the NT decided what time sunset was each day. Lots of campers/lunatics seem to occupy the opposite bank in summertime, so it wouldn't...
