Just found this on another site. Single purpose but at least it’s a start.
Sewage petition
Please sign if you agree with banning sewage discharges into our rivers.
Dave
I read somewhere that multiple discharges from the same site are counted as a single event. Sewage can be discharged every day and it wouldn’t trigger action as no infraction has occurred! Isn’t regulation wonderful😖

Although the privatised water companies are slaves to their shareholders and profit is their main motive, taking them back into public ownership would not necessarilyimprove things that much. Yes, it would take away the search for profits but would the stewardship be any better than it is now...
Just for the record, I will confirm that I was Secretary of CAC for one year during the negations over the Somerley lease renewal. I resigned because of personal differences with certain other Committee members who were driving the club into the ground.
Now, I will comment on CAC. I gave up...
I thought you were trying to downsize your book and tackle collection, Mike😉
Can’t blame you though, as it is very rare and certainly sought after!
Dave
Keith,
Don‘t know how I got in then!!
But seriously, I’m on two blanks so far this season as well. The river has changed significantly this year after those long high flow winter floods and I think it is just a case of keep plugging away and check that your favourite swims from previous...
Paul,
Christchurch are not issuing day tickets this season. As far as I am aware, the only day tickets on the Avon now are Btitford, the Royalty and Bisterne (1August to 30 September). On the Dorset Stour the main one is Throop (tickets available from most local tackle shops, including a...
As Confucius might have said:
Never look a gift carp in the mouth!
It may not have been your intended target species, but a fish of that size is always worth catching and if you had the tackle on hand that was capable of landing it, as well as a bait that you knew it was likely to take, why...
If he paid with a credit card, he should be able to get his money back, if he contacts the card issuer. May also be able to do a charge back if he used a bank debit card. Worth asking the question anyway.
Dave
Steve,
We are with Virgin as well and haven’t heard anything since asking for a refund (rather than an ‘open ticket’) over three weeks ago. Hope you manage to get away in October.
Dave
Yeah, I should have been in Florida earlier this month but that was kiboshed, just need to get the airfares back now..... Trying again next April although the Donald seems to be doing his best to put the mockers on that one too. Still, we can but hope; otherwise there’s always the following...
Now out of stock. I obviously didn’t read this thread quickly enough!
As a matter of interest, Paul, can you remember which store you got them from in America? If it was Bass Pro, I’ll make sure I have a look when I’m next over there on holiday.
Dave
Pending clarification, it seems I was right. Latest update from the AT here: https://www.anglingtrust.net/news.asp?itemid=5262&itemTitle=Night+Fishing+%2D+is+it+allowed%3F+Angling+Trust+Update§ion=29§ionTitle=Angling+Trust+News
Just to be clear, my understanding is that the ability to travel for the purposes of taking exercise or ‘approved’ sports/pastimes is available for one day only (each time) and that the expectation is that anyone leaving home to take advantage of this rule is expected to return home the same...
Bl***y predictive text - I intended to say BIVVY brigade, not sure where the bikes came from!
Anyway, has anyone else interpreted the “exercise” relaxation that way. If so, should we be concerned that carpers doing long stay (night) fishing trips may muddy the waters and incur the wrath of the...
Possible issue for the carpers is that although angling is allowed from Wednesday, people are still expected to return home every night..... Not sure the bicycle brigade will appreciate that!
Dave
Alex,
Predominantly HA with some Stour as well as a bit of Thames. The author grew up in London but moved to the Christchurch area and has focussed his attention on the Avon ever since. He has some strong views on tackle and his angling approach - he prefers trotting for roach and has very...
