End of story on a very happy note. Took the TSI barbel out for a dip today for the first time. Beautiful bend in the rod even with smallish carp 6-7 llb. Fits nicely between my 1.75 torrix and the sportex barbel. Next time will use a polaris float. Again thank you all involved.
Very true. The fact that I clearly remember reading, " in Japan on our own mandrels" isn't something I would have made up. But now they have massively increased their range, ie my early fishing it was his, s , e, then a very few specials I imagine more flexibility is necessary . But I have...
like most makes I presume, having had most of the supero range and a few of the originals, some fished better than others in my view. But of course the different lengths in that particular model probably fished differently too. The fact that I am an idiot too ensures the manufacturers and...
No definitely Suho. I found them on line maybe 5/6 years ago. They were doing hardy fly rods 20 years ago. The first j w young rods, ie wooden reel seat circa 2006 , were done at suho too. I had some demo rods as well as production models. John wilson and bruce vaughan speccd those rods . I...
Don't know anything about them Alan but I know the fun which I get getting something for little or no cost and it turns out to be great. My 9 made up rods split to 3 which cost a lot as bespoke peregrines and 6 which stand me in just 350 for the lot. Love them all. Enjoy your purchase
To be truthful Richard I know having sold on Hermany that 40 years ago quality to them was everything. If theyvwere not happy with the product they never bothered to discussed price. Not sure if it's the same now but it's one reason I went down the sportex route.
If have long mused that nothing is impossible and if enough people committed to a fair sum, say for example 2k, and someone appointed to source, the later day equivalent carbotec could be replicated. Merely requires investors and expertise. Perfection is historically always expensive. Equally...
That's brilliant thank you Ian. A true 3 piece? I tried with bobco where I got my ext float but they wouldn't budge. They were around 350. I have the catalogue page if you would like it. Just pm me.
If it's the rod u want, I dont think it's dear. If it were complete it would be twice as much. But we fish with the rod not the tube or sleeve!. Is the price quoted delivered? If so yes a good price! Has any member got the twin tip barbel ? .
yep, memory playing tricks. The 2lb which I had was a 3 pce sold as a specimen. The barbel had a 1.5 avon top and a carrier section with 3 tips.
I wondered what the twin tip was from as there didn't seem to be a 12' 2pce supero float. I suspected the avon top was from either of the earlier...
Thanks Tim. I have had a look and yes indeed there are some bargains for a fisherman. For me, I take the rods made up so the tube and sleeve stayed at home. To get top money though the rods have to be complete. The 2 which caught my eye are the barbel and an avon. They are sold without both...
I have applied for an acc with FedEx as this seems the only way to get a quote just out of curiosity. I will use Paul's details and report later their price.
