The texture is intriguing. Coarse but dry and this is the thing. No water needs to be added. Just mix a small quantity in your hand by squeezing. Best way I can describe it is that it has the look and consistency of demmara sugar. That can be compacted together in the hand in the same way .
I will try horlicks, many thanks, but I am sure it's more than that. Fjuka for example creates a wax like coating, like on edam, quite remarkable. Not saying it will stay on for rover fishing but for still waters 3-4 hours easily.
Does anyone know what ingredient( s) are used to transform paste/ground bait into squeeze ready?
I have been using proprietary paste for years and normally use different flavour liquids to suit my needs. Together with wheat germ it works well.

Very informative thread. I will have to look at all my rods now. Ha, it's raining anyway, can't drive til tomorrow so something interesting to do. Never thought of the strength effect of where the supports are and grab the ring but clearly primae facie makes sense.
Whilst that is very true Richard and I am guilty of that too but the margins in tackle are a bit off. Stuff on a rack are cheap, have healthy margins but need vast repetitive sales to generate meaningful revenue. Rods on the other had are dear to buy, display for who knows how long then the...
I think that true Alan. I watch ebay quite avidly. It has been a wonderful boon since I retired allowing buying trying and selling reels then later rods. But now it is totally moribund.
