I think your post proves they most likely don’t exist here, wildlife get drawn to human population as there is readily available food source, in which case sightings and evidence would be plentiful. I also think the photo above looks dubious.
My tench campaign hasn't really got going with only 4 or 5 sessions so far, managed to get out today and had a lovely 8.06 first cast, turned out to be the only tench of the day but I did also get two very large eels, both easily over 4lbs, managed to unhook them both in the water thankfully !
Trevor, match fisherman often make the feeder move after its emptied to move the bait downstream, this can often produce a bite so I don't see it as a negative at all.
If true then Im sure that would have made the news ? I can accept that there might have been an escapee or an illegal release of one but otherwise I don't believe they exist, there would be much more evidence imo.
agree Kevin, if you are prepared to join HDAA they have plenty of water but access is varied, they have one stretch at Holme Lacey where you can drive down to the river but that is members only, no day tickets. Letton Court is also accessible by car, really lovely stretch of water but that's a...
