    EASTER DISCOUNTS

Thanks for that. Was about to pull the trigger on a purchase this morning and got side tracked. Just looked on here and used the angling for less link and saved 12 quid.

    Barbel Show

“Meet and chat with a number of household names…” Got to laugh at that. Most anglers are barely household names in their own households. 😉

Why tench is most favourite fish to catch?

Tench are an absolute favourite species for me. Watching a starlite’d waggler on a summer evening or an early morning start on a misty spring lake with the wonderful smell of scopex and sweetcorn or Honey Yucatan mini boilies is pure nostalgia and as good as fishing gets. My lottery win...

    Polarized sunglasses

Another thumbs up for the Maui Jim’s. Great glasses. I haven’t worn mine for some time as I stopped wearing contact lenses some years ago. I never thought of getting then retro fitted with prescription lenses but I think I really should .

    Tackle in Lidl this week

Sadly they don't seem to get the boxes of 'Starlites' any more. About the only fishing thing I've ever bought from Aldidl but they were bloody cheap compared to tackle shop prices and worked just as well.

    Lesson Learnt. Rod Posting

Probably a Flambeau Bazuka pro? I had one for a few years. I sold it but have since regretted it even if I don't fish overseas. They make a very safe store to keep several rods in.

    Lesson Learnt. Rod Posting

Just wondering which courier is the one of choice for the big online tackle retailers? I’m guessing they must have sorted the wheat from the chaff, unless they just factor in a certain amount of lost or damaged rods into their pricing? Whenever I’ve sold any rods on I’ve always done local...

    Centre pin advice please ?

    Great retrieval rate though.

    Korum’s customer care

Debatable one that. I’m a stubborn sod myself and when I feel I’ve been mugged off by a company I never go back to them. Twenty years or so back I bought a Phillips TV. It packed up a year and a week after I bought it and I was told by a repair company that Phillips were aware they had a problem...

    Korum’s customer care

Wonder if that was the latex spoon? I have one of those and the tubular hoop came adrift from alloy block first time out. It was held in by a ridiculous grub screw that I removed and replaced with a pin through the block to lock the tube ends in place. And while I’m thinking of it, my old Korum...

    Korum’s customer care

I don’t really do social media. My Facebook account was suspended some time ago now for a technical anomaly that I’ve never bothered to correct. I sent my original email through their website, which, I would guess, is set up for the very purpose of communicating with the company. In my own...

    Korum’s customer care

Thanks for that offer Mike. That’s kind of you. I‘ve already tried a few that I have here from old camera bags and such like and none fit, so I’d rather not waste your time. That’s why I was hoping someone at Korum would at least say that that’s the XYZ 25mm belt clips you need there, or such...

    Korum’s customer care

Or lack of, should I say. So I’ve lost both the male toggle clips from my ruckbag. Annoying as I do use the straps on the outside of this bag. I emailed Korum in the vain hope that they’d be like, “Well, Mr Clarke, you’ve bought 4 rods, several pieces of luggage, nets, handles, banks sticks and...

    Centre pin advice please ?

But how deep is your spool? I really mean to learn.... ;)

    Centre pin advice please ?

Also worth mentioning is that the Speedia has rim mounted check rather than button check such as you get on lots of other pins. I always find the rim mounted so much easier to flick on with one hand than I do the button checks which can be a little fiddly to operate one handed.

    Centre pin advice please ?

I've never needed it, as such, though I have used it quite a lot and like to be able to set the ratchet to variable tensions, dependent on the flow of where I'm fishing. Without the tensioner the Speedia is still a damn fine reel and no less useful.

    Centre pin advice please ?

some of them do it’s very easy to trim them to fit. All three of mine fit both my cane and carbon rods perfectly.

    Centre pin advice please ?

As others have already stated, a Speedia wide would be ideal. I’ve had several pins over the years, but the speedia is probably still my favourite. The deluxe model has variable tension on the ratchet (as opposed to drag tension). They’re not so cheap now and you’ll probably need to pay over a...
