I have a mint one with case. Single tip rod with a slightly stiffer action than the norm. Predates the Bowler rod range and was marketed at c.£140.00. I imagine they were introduced about 2011/12 but could be earlier. Strangely not a lot of marketing info on the rod.
I bought my rod for half...
All OK Rich..I was trying not to come over as being judgemental as I am as guilty of 'tartism' as anyone, but just a little bit more trusting of manufactures claims not only fishing tackle though.
I enjoy lapping up all the new gear write ups and you tube vids, but when you step back and look...
So much anxiety, who said fishing was a simple pleasure?
Whoever though, why do we always have to complicate the Hell out of what essential is a ..
Simple pleasure?
Of course there must be some merit in whether you chosen sick of carbon is better than another similar stick of carbon or indeed...
This sort of thing reinforces your hopes, just to know that it is not barren of a good fish or two. But interesting that you caught a juvenile Barbel which is probably as important if not moreso than the big Barbel. The decline in the Hants Avon has been alarming but such a beautiful river.

I suggested farmers would be the...
Hi Andy
Any evidence other than reported sightings of both alive or dead would be helpful. Similar to alien sightings intriguing, but as yet no hard and fast proof of anything really, although some very intriguing footage and testimony, but none that is convincing a sceptic.
I am sceptical I...
Well so many stories but still no photographs that are convincing let alone a specimen that had been capture dead or alive.
I would think farmers being out and about would be a rich source for sightings.
My small contribution is on several occasions near the avon finding parts of deer carcass...
Chris, there was a near 100lb catfish caught on Severn Tewkesbury a few years back by a Barbel angler Neil Jones? He bought his night permit from BAA., can you imagine his shock in slipping his net under that?
Some excellent posts, and reinforces just what we are up against if we don't fish the Trent.
I am not the most patient of anglers and blanking has become more the norm when targeting Barbel, Chub do help but in truth I am kidding myself catching them on barbel gear.
I don't ever fish two...
