How often do you replenish your mainline?

It's funny, because when I'm snagged it takes a lot more to break the line than when there's a fish on the end. I guess that's called Sod's Law. .

How often do you replenish your mainline?

Or 'two of those things' in my case! 😁

How often do you replenish your mainline?

I'd be interested to know how often you replenish your mainline. I'm guessing it depends upon where you fish and the nature of the bed - gravel being a big factor. I was broken twice yesterday, for the first (and second) time since targeting big chub, and barbel - by what felt like big fish...

    SOLD: JW Young BJ Centrepin

JW Young BJ Centrepin MINT condition, with pouch and certificate. This one has etched lettering on the reverse, which looks and feels much classier than the ones with printed lettering. Can't get on with it, so I'm sticking with my fixed spools. Asking £215.00 delivered... offers considered.

    Light weight chair

Each to his own, but I couldn't live with a bedchair, with their non-adjustable rear legs. And 4.5kg isn't exactly light, so the compromise over something like a Fox Duralite is weight (+1.3kg) and a lack of functionality. Anyone after a lightweight, scrunchable sun hat, might want to check out...

Summer Barbel print by John Searl

It wasn't the nature of the print that the link was intended to highlight. It was about newbies gaining access to the forum, and using it simply as a marketplace. .

    Advice on rod selling.

I don't think so, Graham. I don't think rods can be defined as being made of resin. Without the core materials (say, graphite, carbon, glass, cork) there would be no rod. If the exclusions literally excluded items that 'contained' certain materials, then nothing would be allowed. You didn't...

    Advice on rod selling.

Which bit do you think is arguable? I can't see any exclusion(s) for fishing rods, or the materials that fishing rods are made of. .

    Advice on rod selling.

At least they are not Evri. Every (no pun intended) time I've received a package from someone who used them, the parcel has been damaged. This was last Saturday, with a £500.00 telescope enclosed. Spiteful of me, but I made the seller sweat for a day before informing him that the scope was...

    Advice on rod selling.

Graham, Parcelforce covers for loss, damage, or loss of contents. A quick Google pulls up the details, along with a list of excluded items - and fishing rods isn't one of them. Same with UPS (they must have changed their policy), which has a web page on how to claim for loss, damage or...

    Advice on rod selling.

This comes up a lot on eBay. Just be careful if you are buying and using your own courier. In UK law, the seller (even private sales) is responsible for ensuring timely and undamaged delivery. If, as a buyer, you organise your own courier to collect, you have no rights if the item is found to be...

    Advice on rod selling.

Sorry, I got my Special Delivery and Parcelforce mixed up (easily done when both are Royal Mail and sent from a Post Office), but... just checked... ... Parcelforce 24 or 48, maximum length 2.5m. Enhanced compensation up to £2,500.00. Hope that helps. .

    Advice on rod selling.

Not sure why you didn't insure it, or why Graham has been unable to get cover for fishing rods, but you can get enhanced cover with Royal Mail Special Delivery for up to £2,500.00 with standard cover being £750.00. This is for loss or damage... and no exclusions for fishing rods, or, as is often...

    Landing net head

I have to ask, if the all metal Korum spoon with the 'stepped up frame' is so good, why did you feel the need to modify it? And by drilling out for the bolts, it looks to me like you weaken the frame at the most critical point. .

    Landing net head

+1 for the Drennan Super Specialist nets. (I recently switched from Korum to one of these - much stronger.) Whatever you buy, I'd avoid latex. It's heavy and causes more drag than regular mesh - you'll notice both when the river is running and you're at the full extension of your handle - and I...

    Advice on rod selling.

I've regularly sent 11 ft and 12ft two -piece rods from my village Post Office for £13.95, using Parcelforce 48. Strictly speaking, the price should be more for anything over 1.4m, but my Post Office doesn't measure them and I'm not arguing. .

    Youngs River Specialist Centrepin....

On the check lever being stiff.... sounds great... I think the one on the BJ is far too loose. .
