What are your targets for the new season?

The name is suposedly from cornwall, something to do with farming if you believe google, but its an unusual surname, only 1500ish on the globe, i think there's another village " ufton" in warwickshire somewhere,,, did a bit of ancestery mooching, got to the point where i thought its alright on...

    BBBB -Big baits, big barbel?

Used to do a similar thing on the dove ian, put one of the baits on a band on the line above the hook and slide it down to the eye, and one on the hair, if they tried for both baits the hooks home, and the rods round

    Four For A Quid Feeders

For me feathering or feeling the feeder down gives me info on weather its on gravel or weed, experiance has taught me if its in the right place, the other thing that happens is the feeder empties on the way down wich leaves a longer or shorter trail of freebies, depending on when you start the...

    BBBB -Big baits, big barbel?

I think i'll stick with my small baits, might change if i fished the severn but last time i was on there was late 70s, dont really know the river, but i do know the upper trent and used to know the dove a little, and know what i do works, but each to whatever works for them, like i said in an...

    Four For A Quid Feeders

It generally breaks at the knot on the hooklink, the weakest spot, unless the mainline is cut on a sharp rock, wich is normally close to bottom, so possibly 2ft? In any case that amount should easily pull through

    BBBB -Big baits, big barbel?

Mark, lets say some parts of the trent are unlike most rivers, you make it sound like the whole river is an aquarium,,, believe me its not,,,

    Four For A Quid Feeders

Ok i have my tin hat on, i always use a running feeder or lead on a clip to swivel to mainline, that way if anything gets snagged i lose the feeder or lead, cheap at half the price because i know that the fish isn't towing them around and thats the most important part,,,, ok fire away🤕

    BBBB -Big baits, big barbel?

I think if anything this post shows how big barbel can be caught on many methods, and not to read into it that any one way is the holy grail, and also that the more that you refine the method you favour, and with time spent on a favoured method ,the more you pick up the little things that get...

    BBBB -Big baits, big barbel?

But that was 30/40 year ago mark, if we had a poll on here to see what baits caught fish over say 13lb ( wich are still big barbel in my view) i'd be amazed if a quater of them were on big baits (over 30 mm) big baits do catch big fish but small baits catch all fish, Regards
