    Drennan Acolyte Specimen Rod

So at this very moment in the shops today the Drennan Acolyte specimen in 14ft and 15ft, is holding the crown 👑. Is there anything else to match it?

    Drennan Acolyte Specimen Rod

When float fishing, your far more likely to foul hook Barbel, as your baited hook is running through. The pectoral is a favourite followed by the dorsal and lastly the Tail. If you have unluckily tail hooked one, it will feel akin to a massive eel(catfish) and your in major trouble. I had a 13...

    Trotting for Barbel

Top tips, ensure you have a rod, that can get them in as quick as possible. There's a lot of good 13 footers, a fair few 14s and maybe a fistful of 15s that are good enoughfor the job. Line wise, I don't go less than 10lb, at the mo I'm using Matrix horizon sinking feeder waggler line in 0.22mm...

    River Tripod

I have used a fox horizon pod for years for the situations you fish when a bank stick isn't viable..however it has one modification; the bottom leg assembly is replaced with just the one leg, via a simple brass male and female screw in insert. These could be purchased once upon a time from...

    Off the shelf Barbel rods

I dropped on a Basia 2.25 last year for a paltry 130 quid. As is the 1.75 and the 2.25, it's an absolute class act. Imagine if Daiwa would let custom rod builders have the blanks and build customs......?

    Making your own bait.

Something I did, when making boilies in 3 egg mixes was; instead of boiling, i steamed nstead. For me it made a far more attractive bait. Just a cheap steamer that had water at the bottom and heated via a gas ring.
