    Rising water temps

IMO.....Often its the combined factors which come into play with the low pressure that make conditions favourable, ie; Westerly winds, Rain, And Warmer temps, (especially in Winter). When these all act favourably the fish "Will" feed, it`s getting the timing right with them that counts. In the...

    Rising water temps

I`d say today would be very good for Barbel from most rivers, and am sure the water temps have risen enough for some catch reports later today! And hopefully some members will post some up-to-date river temps, can`t wait to get out myself either!! :)

Wychwood double top barbel rod HELP.

I have a Wychwood twin tip with a 1.75 and 2lb section, have found the 1.75 very floppy, and the 2lb seems made for the bottom half! You may find that one half suits much better than the other.... Oh and the markings are on the bottom of the tip sections, but yours may have been rubbed off??

    fox duo lite

Yes Chris, well worth a dabble with - if the price is right. It soaks up the fight really well, I would only say sometimes if the rivers too big or conditions too heavy, the rod does bottom out a little. But a nice one all the same for around a hundred quid. :);)

    3 16lbers in one sitting.

Again for what it`s worth "well done Nigel". And yes it does seem you have re-captured your river Nene P.B. of 2008, The 16.8 in the dark! It is always good (reassuring) to see the fish well and putting weight on!!:D

    A Chance or Two??

On the website "predictions" and here, I am predicting a Window of oportunity to catch a barbel over the next few day`s! Feel free to let everyone know how you get on too.... As ever really!:D

    A new Ivel Record

Well Done again Richard!! Very glad you claimed it too!!;) A fish like that should be shown!:D (Oh and that put`s that Angling Times "Season`s Biggest" to bed).

What are the coldest conditions you have caught in?

That looks "cold" Martyn. I too have managed to catch when the hard frost is down and air temps around the freezing point, though usually I will only try if I see a rise of the temps, or they have stayed low for a while meaning the barbs will still feed at some point! :)
