    Grayling

I like the hooks with the isema design patterns for most of my trotting mate. So animals, super spades, garbolino xs, owner 50444 all good wide gape hooks with slight unturned points and shortish shanks. I do like to use a swivel between my main line and hook length. Big fan of the drennan...

    Grayling

Any isema pattern type hook is very good for keeping grayling on( I like Kamazan animals a lot aswell) but they are notorious for being able to wiggle free. Micro barbs are essential and I like a size 16 hook the majority of times. I don’t have the luxury of having them on my door step...

    Isotopes

You must of got a bad or old batch of isotopes David. I’ve got them on my rods ranging from 2-9 years. The torrixs in my picture were built in 2019 so that’s 5 years and they are as bright as the day they went on. It’s pot luck with isotopes because you don’t know how long they’ve been stored...

Anyone started yet. I usually get stuck in once the clocks go back. Couple of cracking high doubles to get started with

Test curves Vs line and casting weight

It’s a good question but judging the line strength based off the test curve is not really how it works because the recommended max line strength is in place to protect the blank and while it usually does follow trend with test curves, strength and stiffness are not the same thing So if you...

Test curves Vs line and casting weight

No but a 2.25 chimera no 3 would be a more suitable choice for casting larger payloads longer distances. I didn’t say anything about which is the better rod. That’s up to the individual

Test curves Vs line and casting weight

The big chimeras…….? Nonsense. They are as good as it gets for the most extreme river conditions.

Test curves Vs line and casting weight

Ideal rods for casting heavy weights need to preload lower down the blank. Slower action rods will perform better at this. Lighter weights require the preload to be bios more towards the tip with the rest of the blank being more rigid. Faster action rods will perform better than this. I’m no...

    Shimano aero line

0.34 Should be ideal if it’s been kept well. They were really tough those Japanese shimano lines from what i remember.

Quick release connectors with a larger thread

It doesn’t matter… I hadn’t seen the picture so as far as I was concerned it could of been anything And it’s a fact that brass components are more commonly cut in imperial threads. I didn’t say all threads. In this case I’m almost convinced that’s imperial. Measuring the diameter of the...

Quick release connectors with a larger thread

Your incorrect Bob because you have generalized thread sizes into very large groups. Metric course alone covers dozens of thread sizes then there’s fine then there is left hand right hand and I haven’t even touched on imperial. I also don’t agree that it’s more likely metric either. For 1 it’s...

Quick release connectors with a larger thread

He’s saying the thread on the daiwa pod is bigger and there for it’s a different and at the moment unknown thread
  19. Richard Isaacs

Quick release connectors with a larger thread

This is only possible if you know what the thread is. There are thousands and thousands of different thread types and without knowing what the daiwa pod legs use, it’s impossible to make any recommendations on the adapter or solution. Can you at least put a picture up of the threaded parts.
