    New Daiwa Theory Speci

You’ve got flat arm lock parts on the spheres handles too they just don’t cover the whole handles diameter, and with patents, the devil is in the detail. As far as I know the daiwa arm lock lost all protection ages ago. possibly before the spheres were launched

    New Daiwa Theory Speci

I thought it had expired a little while back aswell. Depending on what the patent was actually covering you could say browning had a crack at it with thier flat support part of the handle also. Does the same job of keeping the rod butt from rolling off the underside of your forearm

    New Daiwa Theory Speci

I think the new Preston 14/15 foot rods are worth a look also. The handle on those looks equally brilliant and ergonomic as the daiwa. I’ve not handled one in the flesh yet but I’ll get round to it at some point. Pricey rods mind so I’d only buy one if it really wow’s me.

    New Daiwa Theory Speci

The handles and reel seats really look lovely. Daiwa are always the best when it comes to putting a good handle together. Float rods a touch on the weighty side but they may feel nice and well balanced in the hand. Depends where that weight is really

    Ruckall recommendations

I’m the total opposite in the respect i could not go back to a vertical bag again I like to slam the bag down, crack open the main zip and see everything there to hand rather than pulling Stuff out to get to Stuff and having the bag topple over on slopes etc.

    Ruckall recommendations

For the money I think you can’t really go wrong with the Korum ruckbag It lays flat, opens fully to reveal everything you’ve packed and you’ll pay half the carp tax associated with brands like Fox Korda and Aqua etc I don’t really rate the Korum chair carry system personally but it does work...

Calling all users of Ray Walton Rolling Pin Reel!!

the other thing is ….. when float ledger fishing for pike on a river, your line going to your float has a great big bow in it. That’s important so that the current is able to to push your float upto the stop. What I’m saying is if you get a run that starts to remove line off your reel using a...

Calling all users of Ray Walton Rolling Pin Reel!!

Why don’t you just use a normal pin Alan. If you are that worried about resistance leave the check off and set the fork drag up so that it’s just tight enough to stop the drum rotating under momentum

Korda camo bolt and run rigs,

I’ve also been using them since day 1 and find the idea to be superb. The only thing I changed was I use stiffer anti tangle sleeves as the Korum ones in the kit are a bit soft imo. They don’t kick the rig out quite as good as a stiffer sleeve.

They are only little on that yeah. It’s more a brolly than a shelter.

    Fishing in the floods

At the moment there’s a lot of water on the rivers and more to come. In these conditions I’d be looking for areas of sanctuary where the flow of the river has been interrupted by either an obstacle or obstruction of the path to create slack or slow water. These areas are magnets for fish in...

    Brolly reviews

I’m still using the mk2 graphite brolly. I’ve looked at both the drennan and the Korum river brolly as potential upgrades but the sheer fact that both have a low, flat front instead of the brilliant peaked front offered on the Korum graphite It seems these are a step backwards rather then an...

    David winterburn

You can just start a new conversation and start typing his name like so Although I’m sure he saw your other message Pete on his thread, If he hasn’t been in touch then that’s usually a good indication that he maybe isn’t interested.

Custom 11ft torrix 2lb guide preference

No i don’t agree. I’ve got rods with both guides and the fujis are stronger.

Custom 11ft torrix 2lb guide preference

If you look at the design of the guide The arms kick off from the side and meet the round part at the half way point. If you push or pull this guide forward or backwards you are applying force to the larger dimension of the arms. Now look at a conventional minima guide in double leg The...
