commercial fisheries. searching for an answer. please.

Hi Graham.... Spoke to the manager of a commercial fishery on a clients farm. They only allow low protein low oil pellets. They also rear fish including Barbel.... He made some interesting points to me..... The barbel are very uninterested in feeding on pellets when the water is below 18..... At...

    quiver for fox specialists brolly

Just looking at this..... I have the Fox 45" supa compact brolly and a Fox 3 rod quiver...... There is no way that my brolly in it's carrying case will fit. Is there two different 3 rod quivers?? The brolly is a great piece of kit but with the pegs etc the carrying bag makes it pretty big.

The 20th Anniversary Barbel Show: 7th June 2015

Hi Howard..... Not in the slightest. Your post talks of more formal communications but that will be after the announcement at the show. My point is that the detail used at the show should also be made available to members somewhere for those that are not able to go.

The 20th Anniversary Barbel Show: 7th June 2015

Simple suggestion..... Ignored again. I hope the 20/20 Vision includes taking members suggestions seriously and at least acknowledge they have been made in the first place. Dead simple stuff really and the sort of thing that only makes the criticism levelled at the society even firmer. I...

The 20th Anniversary Barbel Show: 7th June 2015

I think Tony makes a fair point in his question. There will be society members that are not able to go to the show for whatever reason. I think it only fair and appropriate that the outlines of the announcements of the 20/20 vision (and he's me thinking that was already run like that :) ) should...

The health of our rivers - or not!

If the upland farms were not managed then the general public would not care for the result..... believe me. There is a cost to that and sheep do not cover it.

The health of our rivers - or not!

No Rhys.... Things have never got as far as that. Environmental schemes encourage the exact opposite now and legislation has added come sense too.

The health of our rivers - or not!

Don't get me wrong.... the rules are followed by most.... but as with anything some will do what they have always done.

The health of our rivers - or not!

Yes...... Buffer zones and Leraps are in place along water courses....... Now whether these are adhered too is another thing.

The health of our rivers - or not!

Pretty damming....not sure if the old levels were to be used whether it would be as bad or not. The standards have been tightened so not comparing like with like.

    This will help flooding........

Wild beavers returned to River Otter after health check - BBC News If it was flood debris anywhere else it would be gone..... Now beavers being introduced to make natural dams..... Couldn't make it up.
