Hi Jeff,
The Barbel up Close and Personal DVD's are pretty good. There's three in total and a later forth DVD called "Even closer".
Hope that helps.

Hi all,
I use ESP Ghost and Soft Ghost. I mostly use fluorocarbon on venues that full of crayfish or if smaller fish are a issue as it saves on tangles especially on the crays.
I've never been let down by either version of Ghost unlike some others I have tried.

Hi all,
I still use a old Daiwa Mission chair that's about 10 years old, its nice and light.
I have a Fox chair as well but its far to heavy unless you carry it on a trolly.
Paul, I know what you mean about the low chairs I'm 6ft 2 and find them really uncomfortable and worse still I look like...
Hi all,
I just got a 5kg bag today and they look and feel fine. But then I went there and had a dig about and picked out a bag I liked the look of.
Some thing to think about when I need some more though.
Rich
Hi all,
Thanks Nick I will catch up with you soon no doubt.
Hugo, I don't even think my club has done that much (but I may be wrong) just lucky I guess.

Hi Hugo,
I fish between Reading and Newbury, plenty of weed of all types to the point that getting the hook on the bottom can be a drama.
The greater spotted weed fish is has very often graced my bank this season and it tends to be full of all sorts of natural foods.
I don't fish boat traffic...
Hi Ian,
I grow up on the Kennet and it is the clearest and in the best quality that it has been for years with plenty of trout, grayling, dace etc being caught.
As well as barbel as low as a few ounces.
I would expect the crayfish trapper is more referring to the morrons who keep destroying...
Hi all,
Ian, I think you have made a good point, it may very well be our fishing behaviour and habits that have caused many peoples catch rates to fall rather than the lack of fish.
Rich
Hi all,
Ha ha, it seems this thread has caused some amusement. I also lasso my pellets to my rig a good mate showed me how to make the perfect size loop and apart from when I hair rig meat I haven't turned back to my old rig.
Rich
Hi all,
For me it changes. At one point it was the fish, then bigger fish then it became about the company I fish and, at this point its about the rivers I fish.
Oh and still trying to get the first barbel of the season :(
Rich
Hi Colin,
I don't like pellet bands mostly because a lot of the venues I fish have very high crayfish populations and they wouldn't last five minutes against them.
Rich
Hi all,
One of my mates back home drills his with a dremmell type drill and he also says he gets less waste, I guess for the most part it's some thing that has to be put up with for now.
