    Net for Wading

Thats my set up,tried it yesterday although i only needed to use net twice, unhooked all others by hand. Loosen first section bung out then when i need net pull it out wrap strap around hand and carry on playing fish, floating net head pulls out the handle in the current, worked a treat.

    Net for Wading

Been doing this with the chub but in a fast shallowish flow getting the barbel in that last 6ft or so was proving a bit difficult. Was treated to a new 15ft rid yesterday so net will be even more handy now.

My only warming about temu is you will end up ordering stuff you never knew existed and that you do not need lol

Yes ive had quite a few bits off there. Some of the deals like a drone for £3.50 seem unreal but every thing has turned up so far. A lot quicker than ali express arrives in just over a week.

    Net for Wading

This year i purchased the korum fast net floating 22 inch head. Forum opurtunist 1.8m handle. Had it attached via a magnetic clip on the shoulder strap of bait apron. Used it first time today on 2 decent barbel whilst wading. Once extended wrapped strap around left arm, net just floats on...

    New rod time?

On this stretch at the moment they are showing to ledgered baits but so far nothing for me on float barbel wise over 4 visits. Have had plenty in the past so only a matter of time before they show up.

    New rod time?

Tried the leeda assasin tod today. 10 nice chub to about 5lb. Wow…….like chall and cheese compared to the drennan tench rod. Handled them all with ease even in the fast current.

    Makes my blood boil 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

One of them who makes out that he only caught the fish due to using a certain hook/line and a concoction of various bait additives. Just to make a long winded account of the catch and make it sound like they are a fish guru.

    New rod time?

Was surprised how undergunned the drennan tench rod felt with a decent chub. For next few sessions i will first experiment with the leeda rod and maybe even An avon type rod. Just seen the thread on trent float rods so lots of info to mull over.

    New rod time?

This season i invested in chest waders and set out on float fishing for barbel. 3 sessions so far with loads of chub in the 4-5lb bracket so not complaining. The section i fish is about 3-4ft deep and very pacy in the middle. Fishing 7lb line and using my drennan series 7 tench and specimen...

    The 16th

I went first day last year, saw loads of anglers on opposite bank to me,rest of season didn't see another angler there! Think lots give up and head back to the carp puddles after a few weeks.

BFW poll on close season lift or extension.

Im think that in Germany you can not return any fish that you catch, and in Italy there could be a total ban on night fishing.

    Close season.

Have not looked at the rules for years, ive just not fished the rivers during close season, but is there still a rule saying you can leger worms for eels or trout providing the hook is large enough? If that's still the case whats the difference between that and legering worms for barbell during...

BFW poll on close season lift or extension.

No need for close season on a carp lake I fish as when they are spawning they will not bite! I presume same for barbell as early season you don't seem to catch many, scrap it I say,its an out of date law but nothing will get done about it.
