2 hrs mate. Only nipped out to get a break from a migraine. Will be going again later for a couple of hours at the magical time. The fishes head was huge, if not too big for her small frame
I was told yesterday by a bailiff that its against the law to remove weed from a river because it is the property of the Environmental Agency.
(not a bailiff on the river I fish)
I cannot find reference to this anywhere on the web.
Has anyone else heard this before?

At a small lake I am just about to fish there are rumors of a cat terrorizing anglers and snapping them up on the irrigation pipe.
The lake is very deep for its size (roughly 1 acre) with a mostly uniform depth of 12 to 18 feet, 4 foot out.
I'm thinking of trying for him properly on Friday...
On my "secret Bedfordshire river" you will more than likely catch a fat chub or a 4lb perch than a barbel using a minnow, but... I have had barbel on lamprey sections before, if they are hungry and in the area they will take anything more so soon after spawning as they will be actively seeking...
They are certainly in a few rivers out there however fishing for barbel there is very niche as the french think they taste horrid. I will try and dig out more info for you today
Right I made one last night, a 6 meter whip I had spare, took the last section out and then popped a rod rest with a flared bottom as the final section. I then screwed in a Gardner bait spoon to the rod rest tip. I took it to my swim for a test and it works perfectly! I will hopefully post some...
