Ahaha! It most certainly would mate although that place has actually been really kind to me, I like to think I've got it fairly sorted now as well so this year I'm hoping to get through to one of the bigger girls that I'm convinced are in there ;)
I think I'm in the minority that it's been...
Its gravel pit tench and bream for me, probably some of my favourite fishing so I really cant wait. I might do a bit of canal carping as well but once the tench start piling on the weight in May thats all I'll be thinking about....
I dont think I have an edge but if I do, it's going regularly and keeping at it, and keeping optimistic. Even when I'm blanking I'll still make the effort to go, even if I have to cycle to the river in the rain. (But I'll also go with people being kind enough to give up some good local knowledge :D)
Me being a cheapskate and all, I've got two Shimano 5000 RE's that I love and use for everything and a tf gear x pin for when the mood takes me. I've also got two old Okumas that I use for spodding and marker work, and a little daiwa that I use for spinning, but they're nothing to do with barbel...
I have to cycle to my local stretch at the moment so I've got no choice but to carry as little as possible - I can fit everything I need into my rod sling and trusty old eastpack rucksack. I do miss having a chair to sit on though I must admit!
