Aliexpress

Anybody else buy from Aliexpress?

I just found this on AliExpress:
£10.27 | Original DAIWAPE Fishing Line J-BRAID Expedition X8 150M 300M Braided PE Braid IZANAS wire Dark Green Orange Multicolor PESCE

I bought Daiwa J Braid Expedition, Dark Green in 0.23mm 40lb 300m. Absolutely bang on the money.

Any other bargains to be had?

For someone who's into lure fishing for perch too, I've found the majority of braid on AliExpress not to be genuine. The Xbraid stuff is 100% fake, I wouldn't trust that this is any different.

For me, buying from temu is a no brainer.

Never even looked at Temu until now. First impression is of a load of unbranded rip-off junk, so I checked them out, in case I was being unfair.

A quick Google revealed a host of concerns and law suits against Temu, principally in the UK, EU and USA, relating to (among other things): forced labour, theft of intellectual property, data protection, and product quality and safety concerns. In 2024 an EU toy industry body found that of 19 toys purchased on Temu ALL of them breached EU safety rules, representing a danger to children from toxic materials or choking. Added to that was a 2023 ASA ban of five ads that featured an eight to eleven-year-old girl wearing a bikini and striking an 'adult pose'.

Aliexpress doesn't fare too much better.

Each to his own, but I wouldn't buy anything from a company that operates like they do.

Temu's brilliant, never had any issues with them and I don't know anyone who has.

I bought these when they first came out as well. Great staff.

I have bought some very decent polarised sunglasses from Aliexpress with no problems.
I'm tempted by some of the lures available but haven't bought any.
Having looked at a possible purchase of a Penn reel I've had an email offering it for about £20 less than original price. (They seem to be tracking you remorselessly!)
When I go to the website though, it seems to me to be back at the original price.
I think all Penns are now made in China so maybe they can offer big discounts.
Has anyone followed up the `we saved it for you` message & got an item even cheaper?

Years ago u had to plan well in advance. Now it's generally less than 2 weeks, including Temu.
Just got some thermal tops off temu, for a bargain of around 6 quid each..

They look great!
I've had some really good sun tops, etc of temu.
My mrs got me a pair of thermal trousers the other week at a cost of 10 quid. I 've worn them twice and they have been excellent, loads of pockets, etc, they're even waterproof!
If you see something you like, put it in your basket and after a week or two they will send you an offer on the item which you are unlikely to refuse lol.
