Looking at getting a 2 rod tripod. The korum ones have mixed reviews, what others do people use and anyone use a sea tripod and adapt the front bar to take alarms or rests? They seem alot better build quality.

Chris Brown for me

Keith, at Defiant MPS , often copied, never bettered.
He designed the korum original, so knows his onions, plus he builds to your specific requirements.

There may be no choice if it’s concrete etc you’re fishing on, but I’ve gone back to using single long storm poles with the Korum butt cups. Much quicker and lighter than a tripod, and even on the floodbanks of the tidal Trent they’ll go in between the rocks and into the ground.
And if you get one of these and a buzz bar you can adapt sticks to a tripod if need be

Thanks for sharing Jim
Very interested in his fantail set up for dam wall fishing and if I’ve read it correct I’ll be be to use the bank sticks independently for river fishing 👍

Hi Paul, I have an old panther bought from a mate. I'll definitely be having a look at the fan tail thanks
I'm also having a tripod built at the moment, but with a few extras.

I use a Fox Ranger Mk 1 which is a great piece of kit but quite heavy and like all conventional pods doesn’t let me fish with the rods pointing at the bait if I’m fishing at 10 & 2 o clock so risky for deep hooking and aborted runs , so I end up fishing with lines closer to each other than I like
And as he says if you do hook a decent fish not always easy with 3 lines out on a conventional pod
Not cheap but his system would cover me for everything I do I think

The fantail sound's like the pod for you then , but if you were to need any mods just chat with Keith, he's very accommodating.
I'm having a tripod built as we speak, but have gone for 32" legs and a digging stick with glow head, that Keith has made to be used as a stabilizer with the tripod , as I'm a belt n braces chap , and like my tripod's to stay on the bank , in case of any miss flicked on baitrunners.😵‍💫

I am also getting the river pod from Defiant MPS.
I've gone with auger all round.
Currently asked for 8" and 7" bars - Does that sound a bit narrow?

Yeah I think I’d prefer relescopic centre supports , longer banksticks and quite wide buzz bars as I use Penn 7000 reels - big chunky things and annoying as hell resetting drop- offs and constantly knocking adjacent reels
See what that will cost 😳
