Recommendations please for a float rod for barbel on the Trent. I'm guessing it may need to be fairly stout!

I think the 15' is about £410 now. Ive ever paid that much for an item of tackle in my life?what's your budget? If money is not an issue, I would say freespirit hi s power float in 15 or 17 feet.

Had a waggle today with the daiwa connoisseur 15ft power float rod which on first impressions looks a capable contender, does anyone own this rod? Would be interesting to know how it stacks up against the acolyte plus 15ft.

Also had a play with the power mesh float but they only had it in 13ft, seemed to have a very similar action to the drennan specialist float that had the extending butt section (x-tension)I believe he uses a powermesh float rod. It’s a bit of a beast from what I’m told.
