Rucksacks which ones ?

For the last 10/12 years I’ve used the Gardner Specialist Rucksack, I’ve had two in that time, first one the main zip failed but that was due to me cramming clothing etc into the main compartment so my fault. The second the rear split where the “stiffener” is. When I retired at Christmas some work colleagues gave me a cash gift so I bought a Sonik Ruckbag. The Fox Ruckall had been recommended on this forum but I couldn’t find one for love nor money so took a punt on the Sonik. I’ve only used it the once but impressed! I like the lay flat idea and the outside pockets have taken all that I had in the Gardner and there’s room for a bit more 😱 It was comfortable on my back, has a waterproof base although I did put a light groundsheet down to keep it clean. They cost more than the Molle’s recommended but are comparable with many other fishing rucksacks available. Recommend anyone on the market to take a look.

Hi men,

I have a Korum standard ruckbag for river fishing , and the larger Avid version for my carp fishing , won't use any other style . The Korum is donkeys years old , and abused beyond normal use and is as good today as when it was bought .

I had one of these, its a copy of an old JRC model. The JRC model lasted me 10 + years until a mouse ate through the bottom of it.

Unfortunately the Angling direct version has fallen to bits after about 3 seasons heavy use, the harness literally fell off the bag when I went to put it on. So design is excelent but quality is poor on that particular rucksack, imo.

Just got a Thinking Anglers rucksack which I was surprised by how small it was. It will be okay for carping and overnighters doing that but would be no good as a river anglers rucksack, imo.
 
I stopped using rucksacks as I couldn't not fill them and thus was always lumping round more weight than I usually needed.
Thus I bought a Korum Progidy Ruckbag.... At least that's what it was called. More than enough space for my trips out. The Prodigy Clip Boxes fit perfectly. I think I've had this for 4-5 seasons now and it's still in good nick and the zips work as they did on day one.

Just bought this from Thinking Anglers , nicely thought out for those who dont take the kitchen sink with them , got all my tackle slr camera , flask and food in with a little space left over, sits quite well on the back not cheap but suits me for the amount i take with me and the distance i usually walk

The Saber Supra Compact Rucksack is very similar to the Thinking Anglers one and at substantially less pennies. Just sayin'

Hi Bob, yeah i have one for work and its been slung here there and everywhere covered in concrete dust etc and its still good, the new one from TA is different as its got the top pocket extra and size wise is slightly bigger ,
