So I’ve got a little range of bolo floats.

I do use three rubbers , like I said to Richard, probably my error , I will try feathering the line more thou

To be honest it's probably user error, I'm still getting used to trotting rivers , always ledgered before, but there's nothing quite like it when you get it right, and the float goes under.

Yeh, it's just much prefer a shorter float . I find I get a lot more tangles with larger stem floats, when using olivette's for some reason. I end up just fishing chubber floats most of the time.

Sounds good Richard I will have some when you are ready, the thickness of the top is a great idea, i struggle to see some of the shop brought floats,

They look great, Richard. What sort of depth are these mainly used for ? I fish the lower Itchen , a fast river but not very deep in places . What would happen if you was to shorten the wire stem on them ?

    Grayling

I fish the lower itchen, I always used red maggots, until last season, got speaking to someone fishing it and he was using corn. I haven't used maggots since, a lot cheaper too.

    Grayling

Had my first trip of the season on Sunday. Weather was awful but managed 12 Grayling, and a few out of season brownies. Good stamp of fish most of them over a 1lb.
