Been fishing for 50+ years. For most of that time I have been into match fishing, but always liked to catch bigger fish.
First tried barbel fishing on holidays to the Middle Severn in 1982, when match tactics still prevailed.
After dabbling with carp fishing for a while, I rekindled my love for barbel through annual holidays to the Severn before retiring and relocating to Lancashire.
Have fished all over the country, not specifically for barbel, but have fished the Trent, Thames, Avon, Bristol Avon and Ribble amongst others.
Outside of fishing I play a lot of golf and am a professional artist on a part time basis, specialising in pet portrait commissions.
