Popped into Blean Tackle today and picked up a few tips and a pint of red maggots. I found a likely looking spot just outside the city with a longish stretch of gravel just off my rod end and started trickling in small pellets while I tackled up. I also introduced a few maggots occasionally...

Had a quick recce this evening near Sainsbury's. Saw plenty of fish, including one barbel. I'm hoping I'll get chance to explore more widely and possibly even wet a line tomorrow. R.

I have multiple rods for choice rather than to fish more than one at once :) Might try a bit of float fishing... R.

Hi all, I'm spending a few days at my sister's in Whitstable this week, and wondered if there is anywhere in the area to do a spot of barbel fishing? Can anyone point me at any local stretches that do day tickets? Thanks, R.
