I've recently bought a pair of these, I normally wear a size 9, so initially ordered a size 9, they were way too small, so stepped up to an 11 and they are just right for me. But I do like a bit of room in wellies, I normally walk a lot and think a bit of slop helps to circulate air and keep...
The 13ft Ultra will be a bit under-gunned for those chub near snags. It will be very enjoyable to use, but I would use a Plus for Chub. I've had several larger fish on the 13ft Ultra, including a 6lb Sea Trout, but it was hard work and I was never really in control. Use a Plus for Chub.

I am no expert on the Wye but fished last week. Placed my friend in a deep swim, probably the deepest part of the river in that area and he had 4 barbel during the day on boilies. I roved around and fished 6 swims, all significantly shallower, faster swims, and only had x2 chub. So my advice is...
I've been using the Cadence CR10 15ft Match #2, landed double figure barbel no problem, very good rod. Can't beat a centre pin. Favorite line is Silstar Match Team in 10lb, fished straight through to hook. No split shot to weaken the line, only ollivettes and float stops. Banded pellet or meat...
Be careful of the banks, especially if it's wet. I would be looking for the fast water, just below shallow section. Use heavy tackle, 10lb + line, usual pellets/meat, etc... lovely place to spend the day. Worth trying trotting if you can find a nearside steady run, I had a nice 8lb barbel at the...
Just wanted to share my trotting success, have had a few barbel on the float over the years but never a multiple catch. Had x5 on the float yesterday on the Wye, all on trotted 8mm pellets under a 6g Slider float. 10lb match team line and a 14 hook, banded pellet. Feeding slow and regularly. I...
I have one, they are designed for big rivers and heavy gear, if used in this context they are very good rods. The bend is really nice once you are into a good fish, not too broomhandle. They a very light to hold and the line guides are superb. They do not take a center pin reel, the first guide...
