Dodgy photo of when I caught it prior to its 5 1/2lb growth spurt...Ive caught it twice, once at 12lb 4 and the second time 12lb 0oz. Looking at the guys photo Im not sure its much bigger than that now.
I ended up getting a canon as well, got a A3000IS - 10mp for £35 refurbished on ebay. Has the custom self timer (which works with the flash) currently set to take 5 snaps with the 10 second timer. Did look at the S3/ S5s but opted for something smaller, plus I probably wouldnt have been able to...
Pete/ Andy,
Do you know if the Canon custom timer will let you take multiple shots with the flash on? My current camera will only work in ‘burst mode’ in settings not involving the flash.
Regards,
Matt
Was previously using a pair of 1 3/4lb Fox Barbel Duo XS rods which were fine for 99% of my barbel fishing. They just struggle a bit when using big feeders with the river up and charging through.
Bought a pair of Harrison Chimera Specialists No. 3s but didn't like the look of them, sold them...
5000 XTEAs for me as well, just right for my new rods...cheers Phil :).
Had been using Daiwa reels for a long time, couldn't fault them, v. smooth drags. Just a bit dull looking. Unlike my nice shiny Shimanos...
You might want to look at the Daiwa Specialist nets, they do a 60cm and a 70cm one. They also fold down making them easy to carry. I used the 70cm one for a couple of years for barbel before it fell apart which is pretty good for me. Did buy another one this year but lost it...
Can be bought...
