You are right, was told by a friend ot was the original blank but I've just double checked and it's not.
Might be a good thing for me though as I don't want an out and out barbel rod.
I know this nrw version isn't as well regarded do you, or anyone else, know why?
Cheers mate, it was the old free spirit I was talking about to be fair, I should have made that clear. Mark currently has them in stock to build and I'm very tempted.
I want, don't need but really want a hand built, custom float rod. There aren't many options so have narrowed it down to these three.
Mark Tunley specialist float
Free spirit 15ft power float
Harrison GTI (not sure on which model)
It will be used predominantly as a trotting rod for chub but...
There's 3 on Facebook from one of the reel collectors.
Says they are like new condition, he wants £400. I've no idea if that's a fair price or if you are even interested, just thought I'd let you know.
@Chris Belcher where are you based mate? Hampshire Tackle have a load of demo rods made up for people to test before you buy. If your not a million miles away might be worth considering.
Mine are the 12'6" mate and I absolutely love them, although not used them a great deal, only casting about 50 yards. I did have 3 carp on them, 2 over 30lb up to 38lb and they were beautiful to play fish on.
They replaced my 12'6" Torrix TE and I wanted something very similar so was recommended...
Yeah I get that, very much personal preference.
I would say though that plain white I found almost useless. But with the orange, and I'm sure other colours would work as I think it's more about breaking the white up, it works very well for its intended purpose.
Will be the upper mate. After a lot of research I found out that a lot of people think these aren't over gunned even for general, summer level use.
I wanted a pair of rods so thought I'd get these as they will cover all situations when I want to use 2 rods but will always use my 11ft 1.75 if I...
Yeah mate, the collars are very nice.
I absolutely love the white tip and orange whipping, not seen it done elsewhere and it's a lovely touch.
Didn't even consider isotopes, which has annoyed me as I remember seeing yours and thought I'd get them next time but completely forgot.
