I used Trigga with extra GLM for carp fishing when it first came out it was a superb bait. Since the new ownership i guessed the ingredients would change for their baits to cut costs.
I have the pole it is good but you notice how heavy it is when extended. But built to last i guess. Went over to a Chris Brown 36" net and extending pole, very lightweight and really stiff.
That doesn’t surprise me I think Nutrabaits in general may not producing the same quality of baits that they did with their original owner. But what do I know!
I have been using a Combi rig for a few years now after using it for carp fishing for more years than I can remember. Ideal just changing the short braid hook link when a hook change is needed.
Use a lot of his kit for carp fishing rod pod and various types of indicator. His gear is built to last with the best materials available, still using his original stainless steel gear for carp fishing. Trying to resist buying the fan tail pod in titanium 🤣
Got the River Pod and its a great...
Mark Tunley built my 2 Avon rods a few years ago, still love them. For heavier Barbel fishing I was lucky to get 2 Dave Lumb 2.5 tc Barbel Rods in 12ft. They certainly don’t feel too powerful for fishing when needing a heavier lead, a nice controlled action.
The Harrison Avon 1.25 tc rod is 11ft and has a surprisingly powerful butt section. I happily use them for Barbel on the Hampshire Avon in the summer when the River is low and delicate presentation is the order of the day.
I had a Darent Valley rod a few years back and sold it on. The blank was ok but the handle was a thin veneer of cork over what looked like white foam pipe lagging.
