    Big roach.

I found mild spells during winter best, but i think the biggest problem catching big Roach is little Roach, all of my biggest roach have been the first fish out of a swim ... anyone else find that ? after that it's back to mediocre Roach, it seems the bigger ones are cute enough to know other...

    Singles for Pike

I'm not sure if you're talking a one hook trace or two hook trace with singles not trebles ! , but here's what I've been experimenting with, two singles, and so far I'm quite pleased ! over about 12 captures, I've had no losses, generally both hooks are in the Pikes mouth, but i do make my hooks...

    Interesting for river anglers

I think it'll be good for the situations it was designed for i.e. nice flat or at least not sloping ground, i guess you'd have to ask yourself honestly how much use it would be to you, but if it suits the venues you fish, why not ?

New born baby formula for boilies/paste

I would Ditto everything Andrew said in his reply Colin, i would just add ... don't get too wrapped up in complex ingredients, and the why's and wherefores, yes i would avoid VERY oily baits, if using non winterised types which personally i wouldn't at any time of year, but as Andrew says a good...

The blank looks like some old Wychwoods i've got, but i'll bet there are many blanks / rods that look like your picture

New born baby formula for boilies/paste

Yes you can, and i have done !, It comprises of the same ingredients that you will find in Milk protein HNV mixes, BUT ! the most soluble of those ingredients ! you can make a nice paste by adding a little milk ( that you put in your tea ) Knead it until it binds nicely ... and i guarentee it...

    Korum omega rods

Korum ? .... I know personally two people who've had Korum Barbel rods snap inexplicably on them, and I've had a quiver rod snap just above the spigot whilst retrieving a not very big ball of weed, also i personally know of an angler .... Known on here ! who's had a landing net spreader block...

    Unhooking mats.....

Well there are mats, and then there are mats, some mats aren’t necessarily better than lush grass, but I suppose any old crap mat on top of lush grass is a plus I guess 🤔

    Unhooking mats.....

If you don't have to follow club or syndicate rules, common sense is all that's needed. If you know the type of ground in the swims you'll likely be fishing, it's not rocket science to be able to provide sufficient protection when laying a Barbel ... or any fish on the ground or above it. If...

    Bread

In a word no ! over maybe 100's of sessions fishing for chub, and Roach..... It's all I use for Roach ! I've never once had a Barbel take it ! If you forced me to use it, I'd make a stiff paste and flavour it ! ;)

Are we losing our Sixth Sense?

it's been a while since I posted last, but this thread got me going ! .... so hi all I'm still here 😁 . 'Our sixth Sense' I think is no more than intuition, something that's learned, and honed over years with the experiences of our successes, and failures, but I think there is something else...
