Whilst awaiting the Rivers to open, probably the longest 3 weeks in history, I turned my hand to my other hobby, making walking sticks, I carved a Chub a couple of months ago, now I’m just finishing this chap off. Hand carved from kiln dried lime, on top of a lovely seasoned Hazel shaft.

Yes i did Stuart, nice to meet everyone. Home safe and sound in County Durham now.

Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. Forecast heavy rain in that area for Thursday, so hopefully will have put some fresh in the Ouse, be nice if it`s running off Saturday.

Be nice to see one, not seen one for a long time. Happy memories of the little chaps.

Quite a rarity on the Ouse nowadays, i grew up in York, so fished the Ouse from a very young age, at one time you would get one every cast, especially on worm, we loved them as youngsters, as we were catching fish. But sadly along with the Eel, they seem to have disappeared now.
