Thanks for organising that again, Mike. Hopefully the conditions now improve for you all on the river now, I have a feeling some nice fish will come out over the next week or two. It’s a nice place to blank on anyway
I have looked for the thread for the 2015 one which was the 10th one :p
My Dad has retired in the last month or so, I am hinting about him going fishing more than once a year now!
Hi Mike, please put me down for 2 places (me and my Dad).
Is this not the 12th Annual Ousemeisters though? If it is and you're offering time travel to the 11th then I'm happy with that
Thanks Mike for organising this again. It's an enjoyable day and interesting to see how many barbel can get caught in a day.
My barbel came on my second cast within a minute and after that I didn't get any interest, except for bleak which I gave up on after about a dozen in succession including...
My Dad has had the angling bug stirred once more and would like to join if you could put me down for two, Mike?
I was looking through his gear at the weekend, no cane rods but I found my Daiwa Lightning Coil leger rod! Thought I'd left it somewhere along with my silstar traverse-x match picker...
Howdy,
How time flies, I have only been fishing 3 times since this!
I stumbled across this photo on my laptop the other day and thought it should be used to stir up this thread for this years challenge. Well there was that and the fact that Mike Lowrence came to stay recently and it was...
Hi Andy,
I am no expert on the Trent but I have had some good times on the river. There is a really good head of dace and roach in the Trent that would get through a lot of your small food items, but if you were prepared to sacrifice some time for these they are sport in themselves. The...
Quite excited by this event. For all the other rivers I have fished that are more productive, you really can't beat the Ouse for mystery and optimism. Looking forward to being back home!
Do many come out of the Ouse (the real mans Ouse up North) these days? To be honest I had not seen these until 2008 and for the next 3 seasons I caught more than one each evening if I used maggots. Along with eels too which became a bit of a nuisance in darkness. I wonder if they have been...
See you all there :-) this stretch is a lovely place to be, will be interesting to see what condition our rivers are all in by then
I remember one place on the Ouse that was stuffed full of Ruffe (and eels) back in about 2010. I wonder if it is still the case.
I have always liked Nash Monster squid shelf life boilies for barbel fishing.
When I read the title, I expected to see barbel anglers from across the country posting pictures of themselves holding up their favoured bag of bait. I am quite disappointed that this is not the case!
