Hi All,
Long shot but does anyone have one of these surplus to requirements? I had a pair but unfortunately lost one and am keen to have a pair once again. Code ARD015.
Ah, okay apologies, you could have a look at the leader knots they use in LRF fishing for attaching braids to fine fluoro's? 'Slim beauty' and the 'FG knot' spring to mind, I used to use these knots effectively when bream (or 'brim') fishing small lures on 4lb braid and 4lb fluoro leaders when I...
Here you are chaps, one from the Hampshire Avon this weekend and a PB for me at 1lb 7oz. Taken on trotted bread flake. Picture doesn't seem to do it justice but for a bloke that has only ever seen a couple of roach over a pound, this looked absolutely mahoosive to me!
Thanks all, will give the lighter gauge hooks a bash next time I am up that way, may even have to brake out the 10 weight!
Funnily enough after posting earlier I ducked out of the office early and went for an hour’s wobbling on a local stretch of the Dorset Stour and ended up bagging another PB...
Well, I had my session up on the wye and finished with this lovely fish which was a PB for me at 15 3/4lbs, unfortunately I lost a slightly bigger fish at the net as a loose treble got caught in the mesh as she was sliding over the rim, but I cant complain with the day generally. Unfortunately...
Graham that's great info thanks. It is a Wye and Usk beat so I will check the rules on their website. I get bored if I don't have a bite in a swim much after 30 mins so this sounds perfect!
Hi All,
I have booked a day on the Courtfield stretch of the Wye for the 30th with a friend of mine from Kernow, and am hoping for a nice pike, providing the rivers not washed out anyway. Quick question for the locals, what dead baits do you find the best? Fresh or salt? Or would you say I...
No, I have been fishing Hucklesbrook and doing okay, I have picked up tench to about 6 ish (although that was while carping) and a few around the 4-5lb mark. There are much bigger in there and will continue to fish it until I get a big girl but it’s not really a bag up water, and was looking for...
Chaps does anyone here fish frensham great pond much? I worry about spending the £130 on membership only to find out that it’s way too busy with swimmers/sailors/other anglers and I abandon after a couple of sessions. It’s about an hour and a half away from me so would like some opinions before...
Keith that’s fantastic info thanks very much, it is certainly most appreciated! As I say I will certainly give hightown a wander soon as well and have a brief marker around on both prior to April.
David that is very interesting about spinnaker but I guess it is a case of a big fish or bust...
You could do a lot worse than a Honda CRV...4x4 very reliable by all reports (I have only had mine 6 months but did a lot of research prior to buying) loads of room for kit with the back seats flat...you’d get a good one for 5k.
Thanks Keith. That’s great info and gives me a starting point. I have walked hucklesbrook before trying to get some carp off the top, lovely lake that’s just about the perfect size for a mixed fishery really, guls were I nightmare eating all my dog biscuits before the carp could find them...
Hi All,
About 14 months ago I moved down to the Christchurch area. Since moving down I have joined both CAC and RDAA. Last spring I neglected to do any amount of trench fishing and I am looking to put that right in the coming months. I was wondering if anyone on here could offer me any advice...
