    The next barbel river record

If you read MY post, you would see that I said it's not on any list, not specifically yours Jeff, so your lecture re "Reading your first two post's" is as irrelevant as it is insulting. I also find your command "post and discuss" highly amusing. I assumed from the first that this thread is...

    The next barbel river record

I know a fishery that's thrown up a 17 and an 18 this year, but isn't on any list. Cheers, Dave.

    Another one bites the dust

In my area, there have been eight tackle shops closed down in a 25 mile radius of my home in the last few years. So, as my local village high street has gone the way of all small shopping streets, I have to hope that either charity shops or estate agents start selling maggots soon. Cheers, Dave.

    Lost the mojo...

Yep...looking at your avatar Rhys, I would stay well away from rain if I were you :D:D:D Cheers, Dave.

    Lost the mojo...

Thanks for your thoughts Terry, and I am sure you are absolutely right in this. Nowadays, I would be doing exactly as you, but at 72, it's a bit too late to do anything. The problem was that as a young man, I was so trusting and naïve I must have had the proverbial 'Them' rubbing their hands...

    Lost the mojo...

I quite agree Graham, but a word of caution. If you are thinking of taking out a private pension (if like me perhaps, you had no chance of a company pension), then make sure you use a reputable company, and watch regularly how the investments that company has arranged for you are doing. When I...

Aldi special buys ( salopettes )

They should be fine for that David, but don't try sitting in them if they or the seat are wet, you will pressure the water through them. Cheers, Dave.

    Our John OK? ?

My similarity to an old slipper is SO apt Derek, even down to the energy and 'get up and go' levels :D And before you say it, I will include the level of angling skills too :p Take care mate, and keep those kids and the puggle close. Cheers, Dave.

    Our John OK? ?

John, your post is a tonic. I knew it would take half a dozen elephants to put you down, but still couldn't help worrying. More power to ya mate, I can feel the fish trembling already :D Cheers, Dave.

    Our John OK? ?

I was hoping John would have been on by now. I do so hope he is ok. Cheers, Dave.

    Lost the mojo...

Hi Howard, I read your usual excellent post and laughed out loud at your final humorous paragraph. I then read Dave Quin's piece which immediately followed yours, and nearly fell off my laptop. However, I think now that he was replying to the OP, rather than your post....which is a shame really...

    Our John OK? ?

Hi David, As you no doubt know Autism, ASD, Asperger's syndrome, epilepsy and all the other variations of this wretched problem are all linked to some degree, and sadly are hereditary. My eldest daughter suffered from stress related epilepsy (Sadly, she died in her early forties from breast...

    Our John OK? ?

Hi Derek, I am not too bad mate. I have issues which prevent me carrying much gear now, and that not very far...but I console myself with the odd fact that not going fishing has not affected my catch rate too much. My wife has sadly had a cancer relapse and as a result is undergoing more chemo...
