    Daiwa Rod delight.

    I have a pair of the 11' 9" 1.25lb and they're brilliant rods. Had double figure carp off the top with them and barbel to 9lb.

    Same, alarms are not a necessity but sticks are, my rod rests are alarms that either get used or not.

    Shimano Baitrunner 6000: XTR-RA, XT-RA, XTEA or GTE-C?

    One of These with a quick drag conversion. Supposedly an improvement on the SS. Or the original shimmy Aero GTE's, GTE-B's, I have both in various sizes and they've been faultless for years. No experience with other Shimmy's!
