Yes happy days in the woodwork and metalwork classes. Especially, as the teacher was a nationally known angler recognised for his inventiveness. Unfortunately, eventually to be dropped, to go in a different direction.
If you're on a budget. It's probably hard to justify the additional spend. You'll probably catch as many barbel on a Korum rod. Nothing at all wrong with Korum rods. Many of us like the custom builds because it's part of the fun of the sport , nice to look at and to use. I have the C3's and cant...
Very sad news indeed for PDAA. Unfortunately, I experienced the same 'seal invasion' on the River Hull 16 years ago. It finished the river for me, as a viable, worthwhile fishery. The pike were the first to be 'whacked'. Then the barbel; which at the time, were getting to a 'respectable' size. I...
I used to enter into friendly dialogue with these Wildlife Trusts. Unfortunately, it's obvious from their publicity material, that they have absolutely no interest at all in fish. When I've asked them why their material doesn't include fish of any sort I've just been met with a blank stare. They...
No rush for me in the first few weeks of the new season. I still have my tench fishing head on. Fresh plans for the new season. Variety is the spice of life.
I replace the first 150 metres of monofilament line at the start of every species specific season, regardless of previous use. I use two rods (not three) for tench, barbel or pike so replacing it is not a big deal.
Very true. Despite being warned about their deliveries (on here and angling friends face-to-face) I took a chance. Paid for last Monday on assurance that they were in stock and would be posted out on payment. The following Monday (today) and the order has still not arrived. A tad frustrating to...

My two penneth worth is that the Chimera 3's will adequately deal with any pike or carp that swim in this country...never mind barbel. I concede that the barbel is pound for pound a far harder fighter than a carp or pike. The C3's excell when applied to casting heavy feeders. Also zero 'hook...
