Lead making

Just been preparing for the new season by making some leads just wondering if there's a coating I could buy and if so how d I put the coating on the leads?
Thanks.

eBay sells loads of powder coat in all different colours, trick is to head the lead just enough with a plumbers torch so the powder sticks to lead when you dip it in the tub and the second trick is to then heat the lead just enough so the powder melts and coats the lead without the lead itself melting :)

Thanks for the tips, the powder on eBay isn't listed as sand or plastic ideally I could do with a plastic coating so just going to wait for a reply off a seller and if it's plastic il be sorted. It's a good way of saving a few quid lol :). Cheers

Is the sand coating better than they plastic coating? Iv bought a few feeders before with sand coating and wasn't too impressed

For all you lads who are making your own leads/feeders, has anyone got any surplus 2 or 3oz that you want to sell on ? :) Would love to have a go myself, but just don,t seem to have the time. ( work, family etc.... ) cheers lads. :)
