36inch replacement deep mesh

Happy Christmas all, I hope the port and mince pies are treating you all well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a 36inch replacement mesh? Ideally a good bit deeper than the standard Drennan Specialist one.

I find it a bit small for conveniently resting barbel, particularly when bank side access makes perfect placement of it difficult.

I got one from Chris brown angling products don’t know if they still do them though? Mate.

Buy a Westlake (go outdoors) 36” landing net and throw away the arms/spreader if you don’t like them.

They are cheaper than buying just a new net elsewhere.

I use the whole lot and it works just fine and so does my fishing mate once he saw mine.

Free Spirit do a 36" river mesh that's quality (replaced the knackered mesh on my TB Darent Valley Net) Not familiar with the Drennan net depth but I use this exclusively for barbel and I'd say its bang in the middle between deep and shallow . . .£20 ish from Tackle Box

The cheaper, Darent Valley 36" mesh is 30" deep but the FS version is slightly deeper (albeit more expensive) - as well as having a large diameter mesh which makes it more manoeuvrable. I always use a slim Trakker net float - not to give the handle more float but primarily to stuff the excess mesh in (it has a small elasticated strip on the underside) that keeps it out of the way but releases under the fishes weight / water flow etc

I did clock you recommending these in the past, the net looks just the job. Unfortunately it seems they’ve stopped selling them.

I have a 36" chris brown landing net with the extended handle. Bit pricey but an excellent landing net/carbon handle and the net itself is quite deep

Check out Angling Direct Advanta brand spare 36'' mesh. Currently £5.99
Been using one on a Gardner specialist frame for the last 12 months. I like it more than the original mesh. It's not super deep but it's deeper than the original Gardner mesh and I've found it fine for resting fish.
