He changed it to 12lb and 10lb hooklength mate . It's a great way to catch barbel ...
the stretch is above fladbury apparently ?? Im not familiar with the area myself so didn't recognise it .

Yes I thought after I was wrong about the line.
The avon is looking very good with good flow and some colour. Had a good look around some old lower haunts yesterday p.m and was encouraged by reports that a couple of barbel caught including a little 'pup, I had a quick dusk session, and also had a small barbel, that is a great sign that maybe just maybe the river is clawing it's way back.
Encouraging.

Anyone looking for this it’s Rob’s (although technically he is a Bob) Angling.

Agree re the W.Avon, reports of smaller Barbel being caught during matches on my local stretch. Definitely a good sign for the future.

I think it’s the place above MF. The other bank is closed until further notice but that side can be fished with a day ticket from the pub (apparently).

Yeah you used to be able to fish the pub side and pay for a day ticket at the bar (if we're talking about AM) There didn't seem many pegs though, I think I only found 1 or 2 at most.

Yes I’m talking about there. I’ve never fished that side.

The other side has been shut for a while as the owner passed away, but people have been fishing it after cutting the locks and ramming the gate open.

Caused a bit of controversy the other week as someone put out a YouTube video fishing it and the comments soon filled up saying “it’s closed”. Claimed he didn’t know it was shut but something didn’t add up.

I was on MF a few weeks ago and there were some undesirables fishing the last peg at the point. There’s a sign up now and the EA have been turning up to check the last few weeks.

Yeah that’s the one.

He’d fished there before a while ago so knew the craic with paying on the bank. But in the video he asks “can I fish here” which says to me he knew it wasn’t open.

It all kicked off (rightly so) on a FaceBook group with the deceased owners daughter confirming 100% it was shut and people weren’t to fish it’.

He put a follow up message on the video “apparently this place is closed so you probably shouldn’t fish here” which didn’t go down very well.

He was at MF the same week and people would definitely have told him it was shut.

I like his videos and he’s been through some crap the last 18-months from a health perspective but he’s lost a lot of respect from the W.Avon community, me included.
