It seems 15 footers first. Then see what happens. I suppose how they sell will be key.I heard that there will be a 17ft normark in the future?

I really believe you would like the Preston supera X power float at 14ft Jon.Apparently all the new Normark rods are being sent out for delivery today. I'm interested in 12-14 Avenger tbh and looking for comparisons to my Daiwa 14ft sm2 xp, if the normark is better, well tbh I hope so, as I really want a new Normark to add to my limited collection...
Had a play with the whole range today in my local, quality rods all of them. The Avenger feels a lovely balanced powerhouse of a rod, and the 2ft dolly section does not appear to compromise its action. When I first Handled it without a reel it felt a bit unbalanced and tip heavy but after putting on a 3012 size reel it changed the whole feel…just felt right! My overall favourite was the microlite - what a stunning little river rod that is going to be for silvers and grayling…and plenty of reserve for a decent Chub if you need to target them on fine tackle, definitely on the list
Are there plans to develop a 15ft avenger? Also tried the avenger that my mate bought. The 13ft avenger feels better than the 12-14ft, lighter and well balanced, and it has a fine tip that won’t bump the small fish. I wish they will bring the 15ft out soon.
The tip of the these rods are so fast just feels like a spliced one, and the power in the butt is there when you need it. Top quality components, and top build quality. So enjoyable to use and play fish on.
I think they did a great job in designing and producing these rods. These rods definitely have the signature normark action and feel.
Daryl said they have this plan, maybe next year, but I guess it depends on how well the current range sales. Their next release will be feeder rods and a 13ft microlite. Are there plans to develop a 15ft avenger?
I used the avenger yesterday for about 2hours, but I can only compare the avenger with daiwa tournament 15ft bu and 13ft air z ags, normark has a much faster tip and lots power in the lower section, the action is very very similar to the normark 2000 but more powerful in the butt. Line rating on the rod is 4-10lb, but I think 8lb is optimal. I have no doubt they will handle double figure barbel in snag swim if you brave enough to let the rod bend.Anyone who has the avenger.
How does it compare in action and power to other high end power float rods? What strength of main line would you feel comfortable running up it?
I’ll be looking at a 15ft version if they release one and I was just wondering where it might fit into my fishing. I know they say it would deal with barbel no problem but barbel on the wye where doubles are rare is different to barbel on the Trent where doubles are possible but with space to land them comfortably which is very different again to barbel on the nene where doubles are inevitable and space is very limited.
It might be a good while before I get to pull on one so any opinions on them on here would give me an idea at least
Boys toys Mike, at least it is for me! I don’t need anymore rods but it won’t stop me buying and using them because I get pleasure from it. I work hard enough for the money, don’t go out drinking or smoke or run a flash car, so if I can afford it why not? I guess others will all have their reasons but an enjoyable part if this angling pastime we have is buying and using new (and old) tackle, some I keep and some I don’t.I am getting a little confused and bemused with all the discussion and excitement over new float rods that are becoming available.
It was only a relatively short time ago everybody was raving about the Drenna Acolyte Specimen series of float rods. Is that old hat and should we be rushing to buy the more recent rods that are coming on the market?
With the winter floods and the extremely dry summer I have barely used my 14' Drennan specimen, which I really like.
Are the more recent rods any better and will they make a definite difference to my catches?
I may sound slightly cynical but having had literally hundreds of rods pass through my hands over the years and at one time had 400 plus ranging from cane. split cane glass and carbon in my collection. Sometimes I still fish with some old rods in fact yesterday I was using a Graham Phillips float rod for Tench fishing. That must be nearly 30 years old and really enjoyable to use.
I await some interesting responses.
