They were ultimately replaced Graham by the biomaster model. Not many sold here and I bought mine mostly from Italy. I know there was a used once one on mp where the seller wants close to 100,. I nearly bought it this week but I have a 4k spare now my peregrines have all but gone. Appreciate issues of matching but for pure value the bio is exceptional. I still have 7, ha. For better than the white or black stradics inho

I've got 2 white 4000 stradics, but hate how they discolour with maggots and GB Alec.
I like double handles, not those long single ones used for spinning.

Yes it's to match that one up ideally.

I had the super then went to the stradic then xt-rd twin power. Nice sturdy reels but then found the bios. Yes I have seen some weird coloured white stradics, ha. I often see the super on ebay so there are plenty about

In all seriousness for anglers that prefer rear clutch reels with dual handles, my personal favourites are the GTM 3010/4010 reels. They never bettered these with the newer models of rear drag match reels imo.

For 1 they gave them a bearing on both sides of the main gear
This was downgraded to a plastic bush when the stradics and super’s were released

They have the graphite bodies which are much stronger than the shiny plastic trim put on the newer reels and much lighter than the powder coated aluminum also used on the stradics and supers.

Pawl anti reverse which never slips unlike those older super stopper bearings once a drop of water gets in them.
Most importantly from my perspective they come apart with 4 screws. Anyone can oil them and keep them going.

Bloody stradics and supers you have to remove both the rotor, clutch knob and the fighting drag assembly just to take off the plastic trims before you start removing covers and the newer models make it harder with that Horrible collar that needs a special tool just to get the drag knob off.

I do like the stradics and supers in use they are very smooth reels but as someone that likes trouble free maintenance and service on a reel I don’t think I’d want to own another now.

A pair of 90’s GTM’s would be a much better option personally. Better spec and better to maintain

Agree regarding the earlier 4010 GTMs, great reels (although got one playing up…be in touch soon @Richard Isaacs ), the only other earlier shimano models that IMO have a smoother fighting drag is the Super X GTM and the Stradic X GTM ….i believe both these models were discontinued after a short run do you don’t see as many about as the standard Super GTM/Stradic GTM
