Rigs

Basically I'm new to Barbel fishing as I've done match fishing and then turned my hand to Pike so if possible could someone make me up some hook lengths between 3 to 6 feet .... I will be fishing the upper and middle river Severn so between 10 and 8lb Fluorocarbon would be great with various hook sizes and lengths of the hair rig (once I've got the idea of different rigs I will make them myself) also if someone is selling up their tackle / rig box's please pm me

I've just read my own thread back and when I stated tackle I meant leads, baiting needles swivels including rig box's etc etc not rods or reels

It is very simple to make your own and there are plenty of videos on YouTube.

Once you have tied some up then keep them on foam winders, coiled up in clear plastic bags or buy a Gardner Rig Bin.

Choose hooks and line you know are good quality and pay attention to making good knots.

Hi Neil, I rarely use fluorocarbon but happy to make you up a couple of the basic rigs I use on the Severn. Can’t say they will be anything special , and I’m no rig expert (or any expert tbf 😂) and won’t be anything that you won’t find info on online etc, but they serve me well and I fully trust them. So if you’re a bit unsure of it all it’ll be a good starting point to copy and start working out your own versions. Just send me a pm with info on baits you use and your address and I’ll stick something in post at weekend
