100 year old rod

I have a split cane 4 piece rod which used to belong to my great grandfather.
It is damaged ,in a very sorry state and totally unusable.
My uncle used it mackeral fishing once I recall !
I am loathe to throw it away, but I would never use it.
Do people refurbish such things.
No visible writing on it.
Guess I am looking for advise rather than offers.

What is the total length of the rod when assembled? Four-piece split cane rods are quite unusual unless made specifically as travel (or poacher's!) rods, in which case they're often for spinning (fits with the use for mackerel) or fly fishing.

As you suspect, the value is practically zero without a famous maker's name and in poor condition.

Professional restoration would be uneconomic and it's unlikely an amateur enthusiast would be interested in it as a project, with it being an unfashionable type of rod.

Yes I think it might be a salmon/fly rod.
Very long,bit of a beast and reel seat close to the end.

My Uncle who used it for mackeral fishing only had the one rod ,he used it for everything. I remember him launching a lead from Seaton beach an unbelievable distance,we (then nippers)looked on in disbelief.
There had however been a cracking noise which accompanied my uncles follow through on cast.The line had parted but taken a small part of the rod tip with it, leaving my esteemed uncle cursing as he stared at the lame tip and loose tag of line flapping in the breeze.
