Early Stanton Centrepin help

Steve Hayward

Senior Member
Hi, I have an old Stanton pin and I can undo the nut at the back but having issues with the front one.

Someone else has as well before I got the reel so the slot for undoing it a little damaged.

Is there a special tool or can one be easily made?

Suggestions?

Thanks

I got a special tool off Cliff Adcock but as he no longer owns the business I doubt that's a goer.
It looked like a flat disc with two points on the end for going into the grooves, you could easily make one out of sheet steel and a hacksaw

Give Gary Mills a call mate, i am sure he will be able too help you out.

Tom - Will try Garry expect he may want it sent to him.
Dave - can do a picture later - cooking or should that be burning dinner

Steve, would a bit of gentle heat from a hair drier not loosen it up enough to turn with some grips?
